First Time Exhibiting?  


 

Taking part in an exhibition for the first time can be quiet daunting, the following tips will help you along the way. 

 It is important to remember that your stand at an exhibition is the shop window for your company and should reflect your objectives for being there. There’s a golden rule to bear in mind when coming up with stand design concepts and this is that a visitor should be able to see who you are, what your company does and what you can do for them in just three seconds. With clever use of graphics colour and lighting on your stand this can be easily achieved.

As soon as you sign up for an exhibition you will be sent an Exhibition Manual. This is your ‘bible’ and will give invaluable advice, contact details and order forms for items such as electrics, furniture, flowers, refreshments and promotional merchandise suppliers. As soon as this arrives it should be given to the person in charge of organising your presence at the show, as there are sure to be deadlines approaching, forms to be completed and requests for information to be fulfilled. 

At the time of an exhibition, magazines that cover the industry will be wanting to write about exhibiting companies and what they will be showing. This is an excellent opportunity for your company to get editorial coverage and to raise its profile. If you have a good story, them tell them.

The more PR you can get the better.

Top tips to get the most from your exhibition.


 

With the start of a new year, new ideas i'll be keeping you all updated with tips that i hope you'll find useful when working on your marketing strategy for the year.

Planning for your exhibition tends to be missed until the last minute when there is a frantic call, we need pens, give a ways and clothing for our staff!

Here are 10 tips that should help you get it right this time:

  1. Make sure your exhibition stand is on a footfall crossroads.
  2. Dress to impress, does your stand have what it takes to attract  the public, 2 clear messgaes of your benefits and features.
  3. Look professional, wear a name badge or corporate clothing.
  4. Be memorable, give something useful as a give a way or that's reflects your industry.
  5. PR, Do the organisers have enough information to promote you to the public.
  6. Free tickets to previous attendees. They'll love it that you've remembered them.
  7. Separate enquiries from 'serious' and 'information gatherers' and ensure they have a full information pack. Follow these up with 1 week.
  8. Prepare a check list in advance - use it.
  9. Have fun and if staying over remember the foot rub!

Charity Stand Off

Children in Need V's Movember 

As we all know Friday was Children in Need and The Extra Step were amongst hundreds of fund raisers for the day.

Dawn, from Sales spent the day dressed in pyjamas with an interesting pink wig and make up to match visitng our local business community to raise money.

There was much support, laughter and great donations being made, many that were more than just small change with everyone being incredibly generous. 

 

There is another challenge  under way with Bedfords leading  construction recruitment agency, Tradeline who are also based at Bedford Heights. Managing Director, Phil Hill and his team have joined in Movember, supporting testicular cancer. There is an increase of macho men in the building, all trying to see who can have the most impressive moustache. Phil seems to be the hot favourite with the Mexican look well and truly visible!

Dawn was not to be put off, in she ventures  rattling her collection box for Children in Need. Thanks Lads, you were great sports and here's the photo you were all dreading.

Thank you to all those comapanies that donated, as you know this is a very inportant event which will bring much happiness to those children less fortunate.

Dawn and the team raised nearly £1000.00, well done for a huge effort, back to the normal wardrobe today

The grand total for Children in Need raised so far is £26,332,334 with on line donations still coming through

Welcome To Our New and Exciting Web Site And Blog. 


 

 We hope you will find our new and easy to use web site  interesting, it is  full of hundreds of new and exciting products. We have also added lots of new information which will hopefully steer you through the maze of choosing and buying your promotional merchandise and corporate clothing.

We have been talking with our customers and asked what they would like from The Extra Step's web site and their input has been invaluable, a big thank you to all those who have helped. With their ideas we have made  many improvements, these included adding new pages with answers to many questions that we are regularly asked.
